Leanne Kunze began serving as the union’s executive director this February after being selected by the AFSCME Council 28/WFSE Executive Board in January.

On Wednesday, May 9, 2018, your WFSE CCC bargaining team met with the management bargaining team for the first time for the 2019-2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement.

At this time your union presented it’s initial proposals for review. After a brief question and answer session, management informed your bargaining team that they would have its initial proposals ready at the next sessions scheduled for the first week in June.

WFSE’s custodial members at Bellevue College (Local 304) petitioned the Board of Trustees April 25 to rescind what would be the third shift change in less than 18 months.

Our statewide bargaining team met last Thursday and Friday to discuss contract proposals and develop new contract language in preparation for negotiations with management.

The team is prepared to begin negotiating our 2019-2021 contract. Nominations and elections for CCC bargaining team members concluded last fall, and since then our representative bargaining team has been hard at work:

The CCC bargaining team met on March 1st and 2nd to begin the work of drafting our initial proposals.  

We reviewed the contract proposal forms submitted by our members in the community colleges and began the work of creating the language of our proposals. 

The CCC bargaining team also took time at lunch to contact their state legislators demanding transparency and accountability for government contracting and support for 2SHB 1851.
